29 Sep 2010 - The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Hey y'all!

So I made it - finally! I leave tomorrow morning. I am ready. I am! Movers came and went. "Stuff" is in storage. I have said most of my good-byes. But ya know - it's only a year, right? I'll be back in no time. And with such stories to tell. And I am thinking a new found appreciation for life here in NOVA. I have so many thoughts racing through my head...hence, I am still up after midnight on a school night. I am just so excited! And anxious! And nervous! But most of all - READY!

Thanks to my peeps for coming out tonight and joining me for Deviled Eggs at Jackson's (OMG) and Gelato at Pitango's in Reston Town Center. It's funny when I put together a list of the things I wanted to have before I left for Djibouti...most people would probably laugh. To include the need to have Jackson's Deviled Eggs before I go. They just have that certain something in them... So, if I had been able to hit everything I would have wanted before leaving, I would have had to take a month off just to travel to all the spots in order to have everything I would have really wanted to have. But I think I did okay. BUT I cannot wait to get to Djibouti just so I can go on a diet and get back into a regular workout routine again. It's time for me! So I plan to take advantage of that and try out the facilities on base ASAP!

Who would have thought I would really leave? Sometimes I question that myself. But I am going...really! I am already missing things...but am ready to add new things to my list of things Kathi likes to do...things that Kathi does. I imagine I won't be bored at Camp Lemonier. Not sure I will figure out how to relax just because I am away from NOVA. So stay tuned...I intend to have experiences that even you will want to read about! :-)

Good night for now. Today is going to be a long day...

Morning: Morton's house to see the kids off to school
Morning/Afternoon: To St. Mary's County, MD to see Grandpa, Laura and Lisa
Evening: Dinner at Stoney's for those most amazing crabcakes - and then hoping to hit the Tiki Bar for a yummy Mai Tai or 2
Night: Dad is driving me back to NOVA to spend the night and take me to the planeport first thing on Thursday morning - take good care of my Ravens-mobile!

Sigh...night all!

Cheers!
Kathi
